Delta Kappa Alpha at Mason
Curious as to who we are? Delta Kappa Alpha is national, co-educational, professional cinema fraternity. Our mission is to foster lifelong character, collaborative and creative storytelling, ethical and productive business practices, philanthropic action, and fraternal bonds by and between students of the cinematic arts.
We are different as an organization as we are a ‘professional’ fraternity, which means that we have different values, a different focus, and are made up of a different group of students from that of a ‘social’ fraternity. Our sole concentration is developing our careers and interests within the cinematic arts. Each semester we work collectively and individually to develop our skills and knowledge of the cinematic arts. Some of our activities include collaborating on video productions, hosting industry education events, providing public and private film screenings, professional development, and much more. We also work with the Film & Video Studies Program, Film & Media Studies Program, and the College of Visual & Performing Arts on several film-related events throughout the semester.
Past Events include:
- 'We Need to Talk About Kevin' Screening and discussion, hosted in conjunction with FAMS.
- Interview Skills Workshop, hosted in collaboration with Mason FBLA-PBL
- Harry Potter Trivia Fundraising Event
